Local’s Ghanian Fishing Trip

Join us on a unique fishing village excursion that provides an unforgettable glimpse at life in a traditional Ghanaian fishing village. Participants can travel to one of several villages, just a few miles from Cape Coast, where they ride in a fishing boat, help the fishermen pull in their catch and learn how the fish is prepared. This tour is a unique way to experience one of Ghana’s oldest and impost important trades.  Bring the fish back to the boat tonight and have our chef prepare a very special dinner for you and your friends!  You can also stay overnight in a stilt home above the river Volta – home to plenty of crocks!
 

Accra City Tour

We will drive through the administrative and economic districts of Accra, the capital of Ghana. This128-year-old city has a blend of colonial and modern architecture that summarize her history.  You will visit the W. E. B. Dubois Center for Pan African Culture, Independence/ Black Star Square and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. After lunch in a local Ghanaian restaurant, you will end your tour at the Arts Centre where you will have an opportunity to use your bargaining skills to shop from an open-air market for artifacts from Ghana and West Africa.

Cape Coast Slave Tour

Depart for a drive to the Central Region to tour the infamous Forts, Castles and Slave Dungeons of Ghana. History will unfold the story of the slave trade which the impact is still felt beyond the shores of Africa today. Visit the Cape Coast Castle built by the Swedes in 1653 and was later taken over by the British. This castle also houses the West African Historical Museum established by the Smithsonian Institute in collaboration with the Ghanaian Government in 1994.  After lunch, visit the Elmina Castle built by the Portuguese in 1482 and is also known as St. George's Castle.  This castle was the first European structure built in Sub – Saharan Africa.  The view of the colorful harbor nestle below the Elmina Castle, full of pirogues preparing to go to sea offers one of West Africa’s best picture perfect opportunities. 

Forts in Sekondi/Takoradi City Tour

Today we drive along the beautiful coast line and visit Fort St. Sebastian amd Pramge at Shama and Sekondi built as a Dutch lodge in 1526 amd 1640 respectively.  After lunch return to the city of Takordi to experience the bustling Market Circle environment, the harbor and visit woodcarvers village where one can find a vast selection of the best quality wood products anywhere.  End the tour with a nice cool drink and a swim at the Busua Beach Resort. 
 

Mole 2 Night Game Drive

Day 1 – This full day tour visits the villages and river’s as we drive, stopping for lunch at a beautiful overlook.    We continue to drive north arriving Mole National Park late in the day.  West Africa’s big game is all here:  elephants, antelopes, waterbucks, warthogs, baboons and more monkey’s than you can imagine!  Dinner and overnight at hotel in Mole.

Day 2 - After breakfast we embark on an early morning trek to view the rest of West Africa’s big game that were not spotted the day before.   After lunch we visit the ancient villages of Damongo and Larabanga.  Witness the traditional way of life of these rural communities.  See the historic mosque and supposed mystic stone situated in Larabanga.  Return to Mole National Park for more game viewing and relaxing by the pool. 

Day 3 - Our third day we return on an interesting journey back to our ship.  We visit one of Ghana’s highest acclaimed museums and then enjoy a lunch in its gardens.  We arrive back to the ship just prior to dinner.
