In the Footsteps of Paul
March 8– 21, 2008


Join Pastor Ed and Raelynn Rea and Pastor Robert Probert of the Packing House of Redlands on a journey to discover the significance of Paul's travels throughout the Mediterranean.
We begin with a teaching at Mars Hill adjacent to the Acropolis of Athens and continue as we sail through the idyllic islands of the Aegean and explore in the western areas of Turkey so much a part of Paul’s teaching life.

March 8

Depart Los Angeles on your flights to Athens.

March 9

Arrive in Athens.  On the way to your hotel, you’ll tour Mars Hill, the Parthenon, and other famous sites.  Overnight at your Athens hotel.

March 10

After breakfast, transfer to Piraeus, where you’ll board our ship.  This evening, you’ll arrive at the island of Mykonos.  This is an island that is easy to explore on your own.

March 11

Your ship arrives at the Turkish coast.  You’ll disembark at this point and travel overland to visit the ancient cities of Ephesus and Pergamum, sites of 2 of the 7 churches so much a part of Paul’s time.  This evening you’ll stay in Assos.

March 12

Visit the old city of Troy, Luke’s home town, and Neapolis, the first “western” city to accept Christianity.  Tonight you’ll stay in Istanbul.

March 13

Today we’ll visit famous sites in Istanbul, including the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sofia and others.

March 14

Your morning is free until your cruise on the Bosphorus.  Late this afternoon, we’ll transfer to the airport for the flight to Ankara, our hotel city for this evening.

March 15

Today you’re in the realm of the amazing Anatolian civilizations.  Tonight we’ll stay in Cappadocia.                                                                                                

March 16

Visit Zelve and the churches of the Goreme Valley (all from the 7th – 13th centuries.)  Just wait till you see the cave dwellings, the fairy chimneys (inhabited since the Hittites) and the wonderful underground city!  This will be our last night in Cappadocia.

March 17

Today we fly to Izmir (Smyrna) and visit Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.  Tonight we’ll stay at our hotel on the Mediterranean.

March 18

The morning is free to revisit Ephesus or do some shopping.  Later, we’ll reboard our ship and sail to the Greek island of Patmos, site of the grotto where John wrote the book of Revelation.   

March 19

Our ship arrives at the magnificent walled island of Rhodes.  No guided tour is needed here;  you’re free to explore on your own.

March 20

Our ship visits both Crete and then Santorini today.  Again, no guided tours are necessary.  You have time to relax, enjoy, and create more memories.

March 21

We leave our ship today to transfer to the airport for our flights back to Los Angeles.
